Well, it is an understatement to say that the 2025 Bristol Bay sockeye salmon run is off to a rapid start. The 4.8 million total catch+escapement through 6/24 is the third highest inshore run to date since 1980 Strong start in the Nushagak and Ugashik districts!

Total Bristol Bay catch+escapement is currently tracking with a run arriving inshore ~2 days earlier than the average. In the figs below the grey points are 2025 C+E, and the blue lines are the expected total C+E for a run equal to our preseason forecasts with average run timing

What's the latest from #BristolBay? Based on the pattern (red distribution) in Port Moller Test Fishery catches (grey pts), it would appear the run is arriving ~2 days early inshore This would suggest that ~48% of the 2025 season total catch+escapement was recorded through 7/4
