#SOLIDARITY with the 120+ Fredericton outside workers who have been locked out by City Council. City of Fredericton is now spending big public money to hire scabs employed by American strikebreaking corporation Afimac. Support CUPE LOCAL 508! #canlab #nbpoli #cdnpoli

In 1977 Pierre-Marc Johnson, the Parti Québécois Minister of Labour at the time, introduced the anti-scab law in the Quebec National Assembly. He stated: “Where there are scabs there is violence.” nbmediacoop.org/2020/02/17/whe… #canlab #cdnpoli Unifor 594 CUPE LOCAL 508

The City and CUPE Local 508 outside workers have reached a tentative agreement on wages tied to CPI NB. The five-year deal provides $1/hour + 2.13% CPI NB for 2019, and wage increases for next four years equal to CPI NB. ow.ly/aXR250yoQk5

Congrats to the 508. I am glad the city came to the senses so quickly. Be nice to see things be taken care of by professionals who care for the community, rather than scabs who try to look busy. Maybe the mayor should take a pay cut to help offset the waste of money scab hires.

As you watch the snow fall, safe at home practicing social distancing, know that City crews have been observing COVID-19 safety protocols and will be out salting, sanding & clearing streets overnight. #StaySafe

City of Fredericton I wanted to say THANK YOU to the awesome care and attention of the gentleman operating the road cleaning truck who just was on our street. First did the outside of the court and then two passes on the Center median. Amazing! Much needed! Great Job!!
