All. Over. The. Nation. Most dailies now are copy edited and laid out in Austin, Texas. Nationwide.

Because there are few outlets left and tens of thousands fewer journalists than two decades ago. The ones that are left can’t publish or can’t get to the scene. Not everything is a conspiracy.

In 1971, after the Justice Dept enjoined The NY Times from publishing the Pentagon Papers, my father gave them to the The Washington Post. It was ultimately the call of Katherine Graham, publisher/owner. She was warned that her paper’s survival was on the line. She didn’t blink.

NBC, per se, uses no airwaves. Its local affiliates do. Fairness has nothing to do w it. The Constitution, you may have heard of it, protects political speech.
