It is beyond disturbing when the NIH and HHS Directors do not understand that animal models are essential in research statnews.com/2025/05/19/ani…

Be the scientist who provides thoughtful and critical feedback to strengthen an idea without changing the idea. We need creative minds, not clones of thought. Mentors who foster creativity can have an enormous impact on the scientific enterprise: self-awareness is key ā™„ļø šŸ”‘

My default PI response is to blame myself for everything around me that is not going according to plan. It's heavy AF. I'm learning to recognize that I can only do so much and I can't control everything. It's a process, but it's lightened the load I carry every day.

Overwhelmed with excitement for the projects in our lab and concern about whether I will be able to fund these projects. I know I will find a way, but, damn, I’m tired. I’m doing my best and giving myself permission to say, that’s more than enough right now āœŒšŸ¼

It is with the heaviest heart that I share that Bart passed away yesterday. I have loved this cat with every bone in my body since I was a graduate student. I am devastated, but I know we gave him the best possible life. We miss you, baby.

As much as I complain about the things that irritate me, the truth is that I actually have very supportive people around me. I'm humbled that people are so generous with their time to help me realize my goals... Pay it forward ā¤ļø

There’s a misconception that all women in academia support women in academia…. False. Some of the most toxic and sexist academics I’ve ever met are women. It’s bonkers, but IYKYK.
