Days like today are why I became a social worker. Helped a family move into their new (temporary still, but oh so much better than one room) home. Still plenty of challenges ahead, but today is day 1 of their new life 🙏🏼

What insight this guy has and some real solutions to the issues.

Social work can be tough & wonderful & uplifting & rewarding. Tonight I’m raising a glass to my families. Those who have made huge leaps this week, who are chartering unknown territory & who hope that next week will be their week. Wherever you are right now, it’s ok. You’re ok.

I said goodbye to a family today. The mum told me she’s never wanted a social worker, until now. Being a small part of her story is humbling. She’ll stay with me forever, not because of the role I played but because of her bravery, optimism & hope. She’ll be ok, I know it.

Just heartbreaking 💔 we must do better, we must do more.

Let’s not forget 1 in 4 of all people facing homelessness have been in care as children. Tell me again how it’s a lifestyle choice.
