Earlier this afternoon, we joined together to mourn the tragic loss of Dr. Navarro Velez, Dr. Chang, and Dr. Takemaru at UNLV. We will forever honor their legacies as Rebels, and we will never forget them. #UNLVStrong

Among his many accolades and achievements, Dr. Jerry Cha-Jan Chang is perhaps best remembered for his gentle nature and total devotion to his family and students. For many, he is considered to have been, “very genuine, and he was always happy.” unlv.edu/news/article/j…

Dr. Patricia Navarro Velez, is remembered for her kind and loving nature, as well as fostering camaraderie among faculty and students. She created an atmosphere for "framily," friends who become family, as she “loved gatherings, the more the merrier." unlv.edu/news/article/p…
