I’m a Utah Jazz fan. I don’t try to be a critic or an analyst. I watch BBall to enjoy the sport and the game. Thank you for the effort during a very difficult year to be an educator. It’s been a fun distraction.

The border is ill-equipped to treat people humanely. We’ve known this for many years and through several administrations. The #Ukraine crisis has only brought it into high relief, writes Jay Evensen. deseret.com/opinion/2022/4…

Thank you. This winter was the hardest I’ve ever seen in my almost 30 years in education. We are exhausted and crawling to the finish line. Utah State Board of Education

When teachers say that leaving teaching is the hardest thing they ever had to do— believe them, because it is. Why? Because when a teacher leaves, you may see it just as someone leaving a job, but we see it as leaving something we love, and letting down students and families.

If you are not growing where you are planted, then maybe it is time to move because you aren't a plant. You deserve to be where you can utilize your talents, feel valued, and supported. Otherwise you will become resentful and disengaged.

I do wonder if the bullying question is because we don’t define it well. We can see unkindness and isolated incidents where a student uses verbal aggression to try to solve a problem but there isn’t a pattern and parents and sts call it bullying. Do they score all as bullying?

Yes. But when I ask parents in context that rarely is understood. I think we have some work to do in all aspects of improvement. Thanks for the dialogue.
