Spot on Elie. It’s a Titanic problem. T2-Diabetes is like an iceberg. Only a fraction of the problem is visible above the water line. Lurking below the waves, out of sight (coz we rarely look) is the real problem - insulin resistance.

Just Norwood Surgery alone saves the NHS an incredible £68,000pa on diabetes meds. A quick google reveals 6,495 surgeries x £68,000 = £441,660,000 per annum savings. Eye watering savings led by Dr David Unwin et al.

Proper nutrition is not complicated. Humans did it perfectly well for millennia without a single nutritionist. Then, we tried to outsmart nature and decided that Frosted Mini Wheats, Honey Nut Cheerios and Lucky Charms are healthier than beef, eggs, cheese and butter. 🤦🏻‍♂️

The Freshwell Low Carb Programme has gone digital! We have QISMET accreditation so that every patient in England with T2 diabetes, regardless of their postcode can gain access to low carb education! And GPs will gain QOF points for their referral. It’s a Win Win-spread the word!

I wonder if using bolded small sized type in a nutrition info box is a form of technical compliance. I find it almost unreadable. Here is BrewDog low-alcohol Punk IPA. If this deliberate it’s a bit sneaky.

1. Meat and eggs don’t cause any diseases. 2. Skipping breakfast is an underrated fitness hack. 3. “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day” is pure rubb!sh. 4. Fat in a fatty liver does not come from fat in the diet. It's made by the liver from the sugar you eat

Stacey—I have to tell you that I was a patient in your DPP (diabetes prevention program) as a prediabetic. I was following the plan (including oatmeal for breakfast—even when I was not hungry in the AM, I was told “don’t skip the most important meal…” and to eat 5-6 times a day

What are all the other GPs in the country waiting for?? If you have Type 2 diabetes, ASK your doctor why they aren't offering low carb support!
