This weekend, 400 firefighters from 80+ depts came together for Firepalooza (Spring training)! 🧵👇🏼 of some cool things we did that we could face irl (PS that's me on hose! 👇🏼)

My fave session: the liquid fuel fire! Jet fuel + diesel 🔥 . Foam wins every time 🙌🏼 The trainers had a blast & we sent up massive smoke signals to the whole town. I've trained this as a drill & it's so much better w/ FIRE 2/

I LOVE being in burn buildings & observing fire & smoke behavior You can feel & see thermal levels. Rollover is mesmerizing 3/

An LNG fire has no chance against a dry powder extinguisher 🤯 You need to see it to believe it 4/

HAZMAT simulation ☣️ This is a dangerous situation as FF gear gets soiled & you CANNOT touch the exterior material when doffing 5/

Auto extrication equipment slices through cars like butter & they fold easily w/ the right cuts This is a large # of my calls so tips & tricks for easier access are 💪🏼 EVs are terrifying & make our jobs so much harder & more dangerous 6/

We also had sessions tackling car fires, various rescue evolutions, medical & mutlicasualty incidents, & a fan fave: RCMP Explosives (that suit weighs 100lbs!) 7/
