Today I am releasing a new blog post on VSM "secure calls" + the SkBridge project to manually issue them!! This blog talks about how VTL 0 requests the services of VTL 1 and outlines common secure call patterns!!! Blog: connormcgarr.github.io/secure-calls-a…

In C/C++, if i have mutable data that i know it will be accessible from multiple threads i would just assign it to a object factory with atomic reference counting and leave the synchronization mechanism up to the user. That way you always have "valid" data to read/write to.

I am the guy that always explore the game files when i install a new game, it is very common to see bloat and duplicates. I guess there's no quality control over that in today standards because users have a lot of disk space, same with memory usage, lol.

The original Source Engine code is very sloppy and hacky but Valve does not seem to care very much about it because they developed the most incredible and popular games to this day. New gen devs spend too much time thinking about perfect code nowadays...

there's anti-disassembly, anti-debugging, anti-VM, etc. when identify malware techniques. now there's "anti-LLM": github.com/mandiant/capa-… such as including magic strings that cause Claude sessions to be terminated for "safety reasons".

The ordinary gamer complains about kernel level anticheat, but in reality cheat software's are years ahead of the usual malware market, this level of sophistication, detail and internals knowledge is insane. Understand that's what AC have to deal on everyday basis?

The Counter-Strike community is very funny. When Source released they said it was crap When Global Offensive released they said it was crap And now the same happens with CS 2 I Valve will not release a new game anytime soon but once they do they will hate it the same way lmao

In the last few days I noticed Github and Copilot (Microsoft/OpenAI) and Claude, two of the biggest AI companies in the world right now had downtime, i had connection problems with my ISP as well... Something IS happening for sure, let's watch the future.

I find it very annoying that LLMs other than Claude simply refuse to help when you ask about malware/anti-cheat related stuff because it is "unethical"!? Very sensitive topic I know, but that is my full time job brother...
