Today marks 10 yrs since my #jpouch excision & #ostomy surgery due to perianal fistulizing #Crohns. This was me at a wedding days before surgery. pCD research has come a long way but needs to go further to improve #IBD patient outcomes. Please continue to advocate for this 🙏🏽

⭐️ Shining a light on Inflammatory Bowel Disease in South Asian populations@southasianIBD When I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, it wasn’t thought of as a condition that would impact someone like me, as a person of color or African American. (1/5)

My experience is not unlike many people of color. But it did, severely. IBD impacts people of all ages, backgrounds and ethnicities. (2/5)

And often times, IBD impacts people of color more significantly, leading to more severe disease manifestations and complications, poorer access to care and delayed diagnosis and delayed treatment due to several factors. (3/5)

While attending the IBD Social Circle Summit at ACG , I had the pleasure of attending @southasianibd event to learn more on how IBD impacts people of South Asian descent and how we can advocate and provide better care. (4/5)
