Have a lived experience and attending Suicide Prevention Australia National Suicide Prevention Conference in two weeks or around Canberra? Come meet up with other LE workers/advocates over breakfast and coffee! eventbrite.com/e/lived-experi…
Angela Emslie of Suicide Prevention Australia telling the #NSPC23 that we need better lived experience inclusion. We are looking forward to the time when people with LE get a vote at the SPA AGM when it comes to appointment of directors as well as a designated LE position on the board.
There are some researchers who are fantastic allies for people with lived experience and Luke T. Bayliss is one of them. A first that we have seen, a participant sharing their experience when it comes to methodology WITH a researcher. True partnerships. #NSPC23
"People with lived experience need to acknowledge that having a lived experience does not give them experience in ALL lived experiences" ... or something like that but probably with more swearing. Peta Dampney also argued, people with lived experience are NOT experts. #NSPC23
Our latest advocacy calls for changes to the Suicide Prevention Australia constitution to remove discrimination against people with lived experience and ensure a designated lived experience director role. Read more here:criticle.com.au/thought-leader… Express support here: change.org/p/constitution…
