This diagram shows mass and radius of various celestial bodies in the universe. Planets, stars, white dwarfs, neutron stars, and black holes are included. Each star is being crushed by gravity, but pushed back by different pressures. Original diagram is for a review in Japanese.

Our new LIGO EGO & the Virgo Collaboration KAGRA Gravitational Wave Observatory catalog #GWTC3 adds even more #BlackHoles and #NeutronStar #BlackHoles mergers - as captured by our new "Stellar Graveyard" plot, courtesy of Aaron Geller @NorthWesternU. Check it out at ligo.org/detections/O3b…

Felt that one‼️ After more than three years of listening to the soft rumbles of Mars, I just felt by far my biggest “marsquake” yet: looks like about magnitude 5. My team is studying the data to learn more. Science rewards patience! More details: go.nasa.gov/3kXqLVE

The All-sky camera at Gemini Observatory South got a pretty good view of the Lunar eclipse last night! Note the very sharp decrease in brightness between 12-17 seconds! #discovertogether #Eclipse #EclipseLunar #Eclipse2022 NOIRLab NOIRLab en Español

The image taken by the JWST compared to one taken by Hubble, of the galaxy cluster SMACS 0723. It's s a gravitational lens, showing us the light of galaxies that are far behind the cluster in arcs around it. I tried to orient them the same. LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCE.
