Why retrieval practice is important: the forgetting curve. If teachers don't have students retrieve information throughout the year, they will forget most of what they have been taught, no matter how well it was taught. From TLAC 3.0

When schools go truly phone free--collected and stored away for the day--the results are transformative. When phones are only prohibited during class time, they are still very disruptive DURING class. Give kids and teachers a break.

If you ruled Scotland, what would you change? That’s the question we’re posing to school pupils around the country. The ‘If I Ruled Scotland’ competition invites primary and secondary pupils to share their vision for the nation’s future, in any form they choose.

If you ruled Scotland, what would you change? It’s a question I’m asking young people across the country, because I believe the ideas that will shape our future won’t just come from boardrooms and governments, but from classrooms.
