Pretty on brand for our feeble mayor to launch her 2025 flagship project "Shine LA" on a rainy day. Shine LA (and any Olympic volunteer effort) is a true slap in the face to people who live here.

Why should everyday Angelenos volunteer to do the work we pay our government to do when they can't balance their budgets? In this case, the task is to temporarily clean LA and erase poverty so we have a non-offensive backdrop for some European billionaires and the TV cameras?

This city is completely cooked. LA: DON'T SPEND YOUR VOLUNTEER LABOR (YOUR PRECIOUS FREE TIME) SO THAT THE LITERAL FRIENDS OF JEFFREY EPSTEIN CAN INCREASE THEIR MARKET SHARE FFS

The city of LA, 8 years after agreeing to host the Olympics, is making investments "headed in the direction of developing" a strategic overall plan to understand resource and staffing needs for the Games. 11 years in & the city's entire plan is "convince Angelenos to volunteer."

They're spending $100 million building a false floor for the Coliseum for the Olympics, meanwhile the City and County are in debt, laying off staff, and paying off record lawsuits.
