The "Big 3" insulin makers drew favorable news coverage for "cutting prices to $25/vial." But a new survey reveals those "cuts" haven't reached most patients. T1International: Most patient advocates "have been unable to get the promised $25 insulin." šŸ”—: warren.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…

Day 16: Insurance is still refusing to fill the insulin that keeps me alive. My ā€œoptionsā€ are: pay $2,267.99 for a 3-month supply of insulin or die. This is why insulin PRICES, not copays, must be capped. Insurance is not the answer to the insulin affordability crisis.

Daily reminder that the insulin I need to survive is still $2,267.99 every 3 months. Insurance is not the answer to unaffordable insulin, as insurance was the reason it took 23 DAYS to fill this RX. W/o insulin, I’d be dead in 2. Insulin should be free.

"Generic drugs should be cheap, but insurers are charging thousands of dollars for them" (NB - in place of "insurer" read "PBM," though sometimes they are one and the same.) wsj.com/health/healthc…

Big PBMs say ā€œDrugmakers alone have the power to set prices.ā€ Then how is that the same PBM set five different prices for the same drug, at the same pharmacy, on the same day, where the delta between the bookends had an over 10x difference? Our latest: 3axisadvisors.com/projects/2023/…

🧐 this receipt from CVS, where the insurance is billed $363, and the customer pays $64.45/90 tabs of Atorvastatin. Here, that would be about $1.49 + a fair $5 member fee. For the doubters: a stock bottle that cost us just $11.88/1000ct. We can buy 5,425 tablets for $64.45!!
