I just read J.A.W. McCarthy - merch girl/succubi friend's "Contrition (1998)" this morning. When I finished, I closed the book and verbally said, "Yep. They knocked that out of the park." Really well done tale of the horrors we hide inside everyday and what would happen if we let them out.

I think best practice for a writer is to divorce ego from the process as much as possible. A problem with social media is that it rewards personality over all else. It wants everyone to believe they’re a celebrity. This diverts attention and discipline from where it belongs.
