I can’t begin to tell you how gratifying it is to see students all the way in Tanzania, Africa enjoying my Cornbread series! The students there are so amazing and hopefully one day I’ll get an opportunity to meet all of them and say ‘thank you’ for taking interest in my books 🙏🏾

I’m always appreciative and honored when parents tell me that my Cornbread series was their child favorite books. As a child, I had my challenges with reading comprehension. So, to know that my books are making a difference in the lives of kids today is truly a surreal feeling.

As always, this was an amazing event put on by the city!! I was honored to present awards to four students for their writing skills.
