Was listening to a recent interview of a very influential public intellectual. He said that #AI generated content has become the majority of what he reads and he uses it a ton (for synthesizing things, summarizing them etc.). I think this is kind of like the intellectual

Carole Hooven It’s easy to spot pseudoscience by how quickly the author attributes a difference of opinion to the “motivations” of the person who disagrees with them.

people who are stuck, get unstuck when the pain of not doing finally overtakes the pain of doing unfortunately unhindered access to infinite information, food, and entertainment, severely delays this realization an entire economy built on helping ppl avoid "negative" feelings

More bad LLM news every day This is the point in the history of our relationship with AI after which you can no longer say “we didn’t know how bad it was at the time” We know now

This describes my exp. w/ SSRIs more accurately than info I had access to when I was taking them (2008-2012) It’s good this kind of thing is more visible now; in the past many ppl mistook a lack of SSRI efficacy as evidence for severity/ “complexity” of underlying mental illness

there is one developmental assignment that comes before all others: you need to navigate to a social context where you are reminded every day that you are good, you are of benefit to others. I cannot stress this highly enough.

I see a lot of things that make me angry on the internet everyday I think the algorithms are exquisitely optimized to make me mad Of all the infuriating things I’ve seen, this video has angered me the most The smug fumbling of Riley here evidences a total failure of parenting
