This is pretty obvious political interference in a function that is legally supposed to be independent to guarantee the right to a fair trial and the presumption of innocence.

Pitting one group against another — migrants vs unhoused residents — isn't just bad optics, it's bad policy. You don't get to the goalpost by reshuffling people from one block to the next, or one city to the next, and call it housing. Displacement isn't housing.
