Washington released LB Dominique Hampton among three cuts today. They signed CB Essang Bassey, CB Antonio Hamilton Sr. and LB Duke Riley. They released DE Viliami Fehoko Jr., and CB Allan George and placed OT Lucas Niang and CB Kevin Seymour on injured reserve.

Player who will get more play time on D this season: safety Jeremy Reaves. Has had a strong summer.

Sources: The #Commanders hosted veteran OT George Fant for a visit, and both sides plan to remain in contact moving forward. Fant has 75 career starts and previously visited the #Buccaneers.

A small step: #Commanders WR Terry McLaurin is coming off the PUP list, as he's set to ramp up — the next step in returning to practice. There is no indication of progress on an extension. But with the season looming, McLaurin will begin the process of getting his body ready.

I think some fans are going to quickly learn how easily RBs can be replaced

The guy who has progressed the most is Josh Conerly Jr. Learning a new position at RT and picking those skills up quickly was really impressive. Jeremy Reaves has played so well that if he puts together some good tape tonight…he might be fighting for that big nickel spot.
