I think the mistake is to think that sovereignty relies on the second clause here. An omniscient God can be completely sovereign and still not need to compel or control the free choices of created beings. God can also ultimately want freedom of choice and accept what that brings.

A lot of bigoted statements get made against people with religious convictions, quite often by people who are 'against bigotry'. Let's be consistent in our approach to people who have an alternative value framework to us.

Humans are infinitely valuable to God - as proved by the fact that Jesus died for us. Humans are inherently sinful and broken - as proved by the fact that Jesus died for us. I try not to fall off either end of the see-saw on this issue.

Hello folks, I have not tweeted much lately. I hope you are all well. My apologetics ministry mostly happens in a high-school classroom setting at the moment, where I am teaching a worldviews course to Year 10 students. It's amazing and difficult.
