This weekend, I visited the European continent for the first time since Brexit and leaving the EU. It's true what they say, absence does make the heart grow fonder. Je t'aime Europe.

I’m guessing the tories have paid twitter a lot of money to flood their platform with messaging? Hardly seeing any of the usual posters commentary… but instead propaganda posts from Shapps, Braverman, Johnson and several from little rishi.

You’d think, given the ‘whole array of brexit opportunities’ .. and given there was an ‘oven ready deal’, and that ‘people knew what they were voting for’ … that after all this time, some bright spark might have actually named a real benefit of leaving the EU by now!

The tories have made an absolute mess of everything they’ve touched. Little richi’s answer… pretend to look more serious by wearing glasses and have a reshuffle just 100 days in that channels civil service time away having to restructure.

The ‘reshuffle’ says much. Extremist Badenoch given an extra remit taken on Business as well as Trade, career pyramid seller Shapps given Energy and to cap it all… Lee 30p Anderson appointed Deputy Chair. Just when you think they can’t find ever more vile people for cabinet.

Oh dear… little richi just isn’t very good at politics. Lee Anderson new dep chair, appointed by Sunak & nobody else… found to have supported reintroduction of death penalty. I suspect another reshuffle fairly soon. A vile incompetent bunch of greedy self serving scum.

Oh look MPs get a 2.9% pay rise. Not bad when ‘base’ salary is already £84,000. I’m sure they’ll reject it… they keep saying they cant pay those on £20k or so more because of the dangers of pay inflation!

Actually… MP’s ‘only’ getting a 2.9% pay rise on their basic £84,100… Here’s hoping the tories go on strike for a year and a half til they grow a pair to call a GE. Maybe they’d cause less damage that way!

Disappointing some journalists suggest MP 2.9% pay rise on "basic" of £84,100 is showing restraint in contrast to say nurses & teachers. It's a £2,500 pay rise, plus what may be paid for committees, cabinet roles & of course, the black hole of MP expenses. It's not the same.

Only just seen that the BBC have axed Autumnwatch… absolutely gutted. Probably my favourite of the 3 watches. Another cynical move in BBC Tory towers to cull dissension of their damaging policies.

Been several weeks that my thread has been dominated by Tory MPs tweets. I don’t even follow any. Erm twitter… me thinks your algorithm is a bit fubar!

Holby City highlighted govt impact on NHS. It was axed. Chris Packham been critical of govt stance on nature. AutumnWatch was axed. Gary Lineker highlighted the clearly abhorrent stance of the govt re asylum seekers... BBC must stand for British Broadcasting Conservatism.

I'm sure the BBC will be really impartial when Labour take office. Really impartial.

Well.... 2023, that was a thoroughly crap year. Fingers crossed 2024 is a much better one and is less drama filled!
