HMRC's failure to report details of a breach affecting around 100,000 taxpayers is unacceptable. We have written to HM Revenue & Customs CEO John-Paul Marks to ask why Parliament was not notified earlier about this breach, which has led to a loss of nearly £50 million for the taxpayer.
