I will be calling for a debate on the 1969 ‘Chipati’ study using South Asian women from Coventry as soon as possible after Parliament returns in September followed by a full Statutory Inquiry into how this was allowed to happen.

A debate and a full Statutory Inquiry is essential. We must learn why the recommendation of the MRC report to identify the women was never followed up so that they can share their stories, receive any support needed, and so that lessons are learnt. theguardian.com/science/2023/a…

Quoted in the article on the 'radioactive chapati' story, as part of my ongoing research into South Asian Women's history in Coventry. Its important that we centre the women in all discussions and their agency. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan…

🧵1/13 Enough. The The Telegraph has gone too far with its condemnation of teaching about colonial history. There's at least three brainless statements from this latest piece of concocted outrage (& more to come): archive.ph/aL4Op

Colonial Hangover is built on anti colonial, anti racist foundations and aims to be inclusive. With that in mind, while we will retain our handle we will move to bluer skies. We stand in solidarity with those who are victims of oppression and settler colonialism. No Pasran
