One thing that has gotten zero attention is that HR 1 eliminates coverage for many lawfully present victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. Pretty cruel.

This is a remarkable statistic: 18.7 million out of the 24.3 million Obamacare enrollees are in states won by President Trump in 2024.

Worth remembering in the context of the current ACA subsidy debate. Many of the arguments being made by Paragon are, at best, terribly misleading.

22 million people are going to be increasingly concerned when they see how much their premiums have increased on November 1 if Congress doesn’t act.

Because that’s all they could get Joe Manchin to vote for. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it bad for people’s health care costs to double overnight?

When Rick Scott was CEO of Columbia/HCA Hospital, he oversaw the biggest Medicare fraud in US history and was fined $1.7 billion, which was the largest DOJ healthcare fraud fine ever levied.

Serious question folks: do you really want to reopen the national discussion about what health insurance was like when insurers could discriminate against people due to pre-existing conditions?

Colin Baillio (@colinbaillio) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Can’t imagine anything congressional Dems would want more than rehashing the debate about pre-existing condition protections.

What if instead of affordable health care, we had insolvent insurance arrangements and savings accounts where you can park all of the extra money you have lying around!

The cost of this bailout for another country has now exceeded the amount needed to prevent premiums from exploding for 22 million Americans, which is what the federal government is shut down over.

A core feature of the law is subsidies that make PRIVATE insurance more affordable. Congress recognized that insurance should be more affordable and improved the subsidies. Ending those enhanced subsidies will raise people’s premiums substantially. Not complicated.
