It was an absolute privilege to be a part of this team. Check out our #OutlawOcean report exploring solutions to addressing #IUU fishing and head to Stanford Center for Ocean Solutions to hear about all the recent progress
πππ π₯π’ππ π-ππΌ-π: ππππΌπ ππΌππππ ππΌπΎπ For the FIRST TIME EVER, weβre partnering with the International Game Fish Association to participate in the ππππΌπ ππΌππππ ππΌπΎπ! During the 2021 #BigRockTournament 5 satellite tags will be deployed.
The tags will track the temperature, depth, and location of the tagged Blue Marlin. After 240 days, the tag will pop off & the data will be analyzed by researchers at Stanford University. The Marlin who swims the farthest linear distance wins the ππππΌπ ππΌππππ ππΌπΎπ.
Why am I always running around with fish carcasses? Find out by reading this new paper in #Fisheries Research that I helped out with as a NC State Center for Marine Sciences and Technology summer fellowβ "Estimating discard mortality using meta-analysis and fishery-dependent sampling" doi.org/10.1016/j.fishβ¦
Tune in tonightβ 8pm in the east, 5 in the westβ to hear me talk about song sparrows from the San Francisco Bay! Thank you so much SF Bay Bird Observatory for having me
Fintastic News! Iβm excited to announce that I will be starting my PhD at Stanford University in the Block Lab (Barbara Block) at Hopkins Marine Station Stanford University Station starting this fall! My research will focus on the movement ecology and physiology of apex marine predators! #scicomm Academic Chatterβ’
NEW COLLABORATIVE PAPER: Our team, co-led by David Curnick, compiled the first global synthesis of vertical habitat use by elasmobranchs. For more info, check out the infographic and #openaccess article science.org/doi/10.1126/scβ¦ More tidbits in the π§΅below (1/4) #VerticalSharks
