Big time raw arm strength on display here by Brewer’s Pedro Severino throwing a runner out from his knees. Sometimes this is your only option. Rep it in practice. Between innings?#catcherthrowing

The key takeaway on this throwout by Jan Gomes is the elite exchange(0.62).He doesn’t fully close his front side in order to get the ball airborne faster because of the pitch location & jump by the BR. Additionally look how quickly & how low his right foot moves to get alignment.

This pick by the Rays Francisco Mejia appears to be part of their 1st 3rd safety squeeze defense. Notice the proximity of the 3rd baseman to 3B pre pitch. #catcherthrowing

Coach Saban got his first coaching lesson as a 15 year old high school QB. 💬 “When you get in critical situations in the game...don’t think of plays...think of players!”

We tend to ignore our 1st baseman. This check list gives you an appreciation for the scope of the position. It’s a bat 1st position but good defenders greatly affect the defensive efficiency of your P, C & the other 3 INF’s. “ANYONE CAN PLAY FIRST EXCEPT THEY CAN’T.”

Xander Bogaerts gambles on this ball in the dirt with 2 outs & 2 strikes on the hitter. If the scoreboard is right, the rule of thumb is if you think the ball will roll out of the dirt circle, GO.

Don't focus on being better than the other guy.  Who cares what they’re doing?! Today, focus on being better than you were yesterday. 🎯

Cubs All Star Willson Contreras makes two significant adjustments on the fly to throw this runner out at 3B. He gets up early out of his knee down stance when he sees the runner break from second base & lowers his arm slot to speed up his release.

RHP PICK TO THIRD BASE. IMO low risk high return play.(We have no reservations having our LHP’S pick to first base.) Same balk rules apply. Surprise pick because it happens so infrequently the runner at 3B starts his secondary on the pitcher’s leg

SIMPLE THOUGHT ON HITTING & PITCHING-THE BEST CONTOL THEIR HEAD & EYES BY: 1)Controlling their direction. 2)Controlling their effort/tempo. 3)Controlling their posture. 4)Controlling their thinking. 5)Controlling their breathing.

Something that you don’t see very frequently in MLB, back to back successful bunts for hits. One thought on Altuve’s push bunt. Once the bunt reaches the running box,the reverse pivot to throw by the LHP is probably too slow. It is better to just try to underhand it to the 1B.

Navy SEALs are the most elite warriors on earth. How do they become that way? By developing an unbreakable mindset. Here’s how they do it (and how you can, too):

COUNTER INTUITIVE BASE RUNNING THOUGHT 9th inning with two outs & runner on 2B down two or more runs, treat a ground ball in front of you like there are less than two outs. Make the ball go through. Do not run into a tag or become vulnerable to a 6-5 play on a ball in the 6 hole.
