Tragic. MadDog Chiang Mai gutted. I didn’t go there often since Nick retired, but still went for the occasional pizza or breakfast. Does anyone have more details or know if they will reopen?

Has anyone put new batteries in the tsunami warning buoys recently ? The Mandalay earthquake is on the same fault line. Several smaller tremors in the Andaman Islands yesterday.

RIP Gwen Robinson the FCCT’s current past president and Nikkei Asia editor at large. A journalist of the old school. I never met you in person, but enjoyed your articles and MC of FCCT events.

Cricket - World Test Championship Aust v SA starts tomorrow at Lords. We should be able to view the live stream in Thailand from the ICC Cricket web site.

Hwy 317 Chantaburi to Sa Kaeo, especially the stretch to Soi Dao, right now is probably the best I’ve driven on in Thailand. Well engineered, smooth surface and with the border crossings closed, low traffic.
