Super excited to share our first pre-print of 2023! CAR T cells can't be dynamically tuned in vivo, creating safety and resistance issues. To overcome this, we developed a valency controlled receptor (VCR) that uses drugs to modulate CAR T cell activity. 👇🧵Sarafan ChEM-H

Excited to share a new preprint from Xiaojing Gao at Stanford Engineering on Compact Programmable Control of Protein Secretion in Mammalian Cells biorxiv.org/content/10.110… There is a need to ensure that the #synbio tools we develop can fit within pre-existing vectors for delivery!

Excited to be at American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) annual meeting this week! Catch me at the MTFC poster session tomorrow 1-3pm (poster 335) and in Monday's Faculty candidate oral session (1:42 pm in Celebration 15). Excited to share my vision on using synthetic biology to create smart therapeutics!

I am excited to share that I will be starting as a tenure track Assistant Professor in Coulter BME | Emory & Georgia Tech at Georgia Tech in the upcoming year. I am very grateful of the unwavering support of my postdoctoral mentor, Xiaojing Gao , and my PhD supervisor, Michael Sefton.

#TraineeSpotlight: Lexie is a Chemical Engineering PhD Candidate. Her research focuses on developing novel aptamers via modified SELEX schemes and characterizing them for biosensing applications. In her free time, Lexie Adams enjoys traveling, running, and wine tasting.

Next stop for the Heilshorn Lab is the Bioengineering & Translational Medicine Conference and AIChE Annual Meeting in San Diego! We are thrilled to be sharing our research at these 2 colocated events. Come say hi! 🌴 #AIChE2024 American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE)

Thank you so much Stanford Bioengineering Inflection Award !!! 🌱
