This first-in-the-nation law targets theft by removing the profitability of stolen copper metal. It closes loopholes that incentivize theft while ensuring scrap dealers can operate effectively. In the new year, Minnesotans will have another tool to tackle copper theft head-on.

Starting 2025 off with a charter change to be able to uphold rent stabilization, combat wage theft, fix problem properties and uplift our neighborhoods from Midway to downtown. Proud to be leading the effort with this historic Council and Saura Jost HwaJeong Kim 🌸.

👏🏿👏🏾👏🏻 St. Paul ISAIAH leaders across race, age, and neighborhood are excited that we are one step closer to passing admin citations in our city. Let's win non-criminal avenues for enforcing city ordinances and reaching resolutions for renters, workers, and residents faster!

It was a real honor to speak with you today Angela Davis MPR and talk about the motivations we have to serve Saint Paul in public office as well as our focus on community this past year together. Thank you.

Here is why my colleagues and I want to pass a charter change to fight for Saint Paul workers, renters and neighborhoods, with an equitable implementation plan to ensure it targets our city's biggest and worst actors: twincities.com/2025/01/21/jal…

Preserving and building more affordable housing could not be more urgent. With nearly $17 million for projects in Saint Paul, we're building capacity for our down payment assistance and home rehab programs and funding new construction on our East Side.

Today, the Saint Paul City Council votes on a charter change that would hold landlords and employers accountable when they break the law. This would protect renters, workers, and neighborhoods across our city. Let's pass this and help make St. Paul a better place to live!

Administrative Citations passes 7-0. Our community deserves safe, healthy, and vibrant neighborhoods. We also deserve accountability tools to ensure our city stays that way. Thank you to our Charter Commission, Councilmembers, Council/City staff, City staff & community 👏🏾

St. Paul residents have come together across race and place over the years to pass historic policies like a $15 minimum wage, renters’ rights, and earned sick and safe time. Today we finally passed admin citations so we can better enforce the laws we worked hard to create! 🥳

It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve the residents of Saint Paul these last nearly seven years. Today, I share the news that I have made the difficult decision to prioritize my health and begin a transition out of City Hall. My full statement: facebook.com/Ward4STP/posts…

Wage theft happens when employers do not pay employees wages they earned. The ordinance holds employers accountable and brings faster resolution to employees.
