Using my necklace to suss out the women’s and gender studies majors/minors who’ve made it to our health science campus. Oh you know Venus of Willendorf? Welcome!

Just looked up the history of childhood vaccine recommendations to figure out some updates before travel, because I have no idea where the little card with all that info ended up. You never know how history of medicine will be useful. #histmed

An important part of mentoring is pointing out to young women that the leadership dynamic they think is “difficult” actually follows the exact patterns and tricks of an abusive partner. Putting that gender studies training to use.

I don't remember a previous year when I was excited about so many of new MacArthur Fellows. Often one, maybe two, but this year there are so many whose work on gender I've used, taught, and recommended. It's so exciting to see this work recognized.

I’m in South Africa and have been explaining where we live to so many people. Then today someone on our tour had actually been to Nebraska from Norway. Actually, she visited University of Nebraska Medical Center with others from her university. There were 4 people on this tour so wild to make that connection.

Only is the Midwest is your polling place the local Chevy dealer. I find it amusing and it’s the reason I like voting in person on Election Day.
