It is a shame that Labour could not put politics aside and back our amendment which would ban smart phones in schools here. Other countries are also waking up to the huge damage that smart phones are having on pupils, does the Education Secretary also think this is a “gimmick”?

Labour were wrong to dismiss our amendment to ban phones in schools as a “gimmick”, it’s a no brainer that we must do more. With more evidence showing that phone bans in schools cut children’s screen time in half, it’s the right thing for parents, teachers and children.

On Wednesday, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea passed its budget for next year. Kensington, Chelsea & Fulham Conservatives are investing an additional £750,000 in street cleaning. We are also investing in specialist housing for older residents, new Council homes, including at Lots Rd - where a new riverside park will open in 2026.

Sense prevails!

The reality is that severe absence is up and has grown since last year. This means more children are now sadly missing at least half of the school year. We must do more to make sure the most vulnerable children are not left behind.

Pleased to share that our campaign to keep a post office on Kensington High Street has been successful. The Post Office now plans to relocate just 100 yards from its current site, into the new Ryman store.
