Completely agree. All Governments avoid giving councils the powers to really financially penalise flytipping and littering. Should also include vehicle confiscation

A very odd decision, and action. I had a bit of this, but I just used to laugh, and engage in a bit of self deprcation, all leaders get a bit of jibbing, but resort to the law! Maybe more money than sense. Still loving the suit Tom, gives one hope at this time of year.

My Times piece: Construction is in what looks to be a sustained downturn, the mood in housebuilding is bleak, and it wasn’t all due to pre-budget uncertainty: Builders aren’t building – and that’s a worry for the economy thetimes.com/article/01c8e6…

After all that work, the Government dither is so unhelpful, mixed in which Reforms attitude is this a gonner? We need this new school.

And of course the normal idiots are crowing this is great. Fishing right was the first surrender, this is another, but Bredon Hill students will enjoy Paris.

I’ve been near Pershore today to see the shocking scenes at a suspected illegal waste dumping site - with the owner admitting things have got “out of hand”. 🤮 Full story on Midlands Today on BBC1 at 6.30pm. Tune in! 📺

Maybe I’m missing something but please explain: how can a fall in the inflation rate in November be ‘a result’ of a Budget that didn’t happen til the end of November? Has Labour mastered time travel?

In Wychavon we are the same, second lowest Council tax rate and 48 yeasrs of thrift and imagination, to see careless spending rewarded.

What a time to be alive We’ve restored 500m of zombie hedgerow near our local town And planted 185m of new hedgerow And got nothing but grief for it…

Last year in Wychavon; Planning Committee approved some 1,397 of which 639 (a shade over 45%) are affordable homes – neither figure is insignificant. The impact of these numbers year after year as our cities fail to redevelop on the rural shires will be Labour's victory.

Farmers can celebrate tonight after securing a huge victory over the Labour Government. Celebrations were already underway earlier, led by Kemi Badenoch and Jeremy Clarkson.

England should have picked Cinderella for the fourth test. At least she knows when to leave the ball. I'll get my coat. Happy Christmas Everyone. Dig In and Plod On in 2026

How typical of this government that in its direction is ordering us to invest in Private markets using our Local Government Pension funds. It is not their money, it is our pensioners or Council tax payers cash.
