Now, who's going to get this monster? Surely not. All of the youngsters clearly wanted it, but try and try again none could manage it, even the adult had trouble getting it down in the end RSPB Lakenheath Fen

Pure luck for me getting the moment, but looks like this Great Egret had a lucky escape from a piece of discarded fishing line and hook round its foot... RSPB Lakenheath Fen

If I'd have known this juvenile Great Crested Grebe was going to reject this fish I'd have videoed it, but instead here's a short sequence of photos taken. Last week at RSPB Lakenheath Fen

Confused or just not sure Coot? Went one way then came back... Yes it really did change the vegetation from right to left, I didn't flip a pic! Perhaps it just wanted to impress the people in the hide with its weed?? RSPB Lakenheath Fen today

Looks like two freshly emerged dragonfly going to feed young Reed Bunting... RSPB Lakenheath Fen today

I was pleased there was just enough light to freeze this sequence of a juvenile Kingfisher stunning prey before eating RSPB Lakenheath Fen today

It was nice to see lots of Sanderling retaining some breeding plumage on the beach at RSPB Titchwell Marsh today, smart little birds

It's clearly a challenge breeding whilst still going round your territory belting out your song, as the tank road Cetti's warbler was looking a bit frazzled today! RSPB Titchwell Marsh

I'm going to have to go back and try and get the whole ring for this Sedge Warbler as it decided to tuck that leg away and carry on singing! So only managed Museu[m] Pari[s] 98342.. RSPB Titchwell Marsh today

Whilst the juvenile Kingfisher at RSPB Lakenheath Fen today were catching some decent size fish (proud me thinks!), gulp, they also caught Backswimmers, here I think this is a Grousewinged Backswimmer (Notonecta undulata)?

Once you've eaten your meal you need to get rid of the unpalatable bits, looked a bit of a struggle to start... RSPB Lakenheath Fen wrong way round but never mind.

Its not usually a wise idea to antagonise a Coot, but that's what this Juvenile Great Crested Grebe did at RSPB Lakenheath Fen yesterday, but all it got was a short but intense stare, lucky Grebe...

A bit soft due to the heat haze, but nice to confirm what this Herring Gull managed to get despite valiant efforts from the Black-headed Gulls and Avocets, an egg, RSPB Titchwell Marsh today

Well, that's not what you expect to be looking down at you from the roof of Parrinder Hide, a Little Ringed Plover! RSPB Titchwell Marsh today, well spotted Michael Rimmell

A Spoonbill that's actually awake! WWT Welney today when the sun finally came out to play...

Lots of spines on a Stickleback, ouch if its not subdued properly for this Kingfisher, an obscured view of a Bittern catching a decent size Pike and without a macro lens pleased with this Banded Demoiselle Damselfly pic RSPB Lakenheath Fen today

Looks like someone took a wrong turn and ended up on the main path at RSPB Titchwell Marsh today, Avocet and their one remaining chick
