1st: Paper Weaving + Creature

Students in kindergarten are creating radial collages of squares and rectangles.

Students in 5th grade are creating 3D shapes, crystals and gemstones. They're creating values with watercolor paint as well.

2nd graders stamped lines to create fur texture and then created a monster collage with facial features.

1st graders learned about the primary colors. The mixed to make secondary colors. They identified primary colored objects to add to their artwork.

2nd graders are creating still life drawings.

1st graders are exploring with different tools to stamp and create prints. For class 2, the students were given the challenge to stamp a scene about a place.

I tried something new with 4th graders. They had to observe and draw 3D shapes with value/shading. Then they stacked them in a fun way.

CLAY is always a highlight.😃 Kindergartners create a pinch pot and is in the process of glazing them.🖌

2nd graders completed still life drawings and a mini watercolor challenge about a still life

Students in 5th grade have been building clay storyteller dolls inspired by Helen Cordero...a Cochiti Pueblo potter.

1st graders have been exploring creating dynamic paper sculptures. They had to bend, fold, twist, cut, curl, crumble, fold and bend the paper in different ways to make it 3d.

Kindergarteners did some circle stamping. Then they painted in the shapes and spaces with watercolor.

A little Art Jams Session for staff and the superintendent. We completed a 3rd grade lesson on visual texture landscapes inspired by Canadian based artist, Christa Rijneveld.

3rd graders are wrapping up a textured landscape collage about Arpilleras.

The kids played a neat new game called Ouisi Dominoes where they had to share a connection between one of their cards and another already laid down.
