Per- and Polyfluroalkyl Substances(PFAS) from WPAFB drills runs off down gradient to wells and seeps into Dayton’s aquifer and has many untestable toxins, but the city is filing a lawsuit to decrease the runoff from the base

While the national EPA is not as advanced in testing the effects of PFAS the Ohio EPA is much further ahead of testing because of the effects of the base runoff

Out of the presumed 7000 PFAS only about 4000 are known. Currently, Ohio tests for about 500 but only 18 can be detected and from those 18, only 6 are toxic. The full effect PFAS have on the human body is still being studied, but some are known to be harmful.
