This week, we had a visit from Compass Be, Barnsley Mental Health Support Team mental health team! 🧠💪They helped us explore our emotions and how we respond to different situations.

The circus arrived in class 4 today as we began reading ‘Leon and the Place Between’ by Angela McAllister and Grahame Baker-Smith. 🎪🤡🤹‍♀️

For the walk to panto tomorrow, children will need a waterproof coat and sensible footwear. They may bring sweets and a drink for the performance. 🙂

Watercolours 🎨 We painted an Egyptian river scene as part of our writing unit. The children loved using different shades of blue for the River Nile and trying to get the perfect colours for the sand and pyramids.

Science: What are the three states of matter? We had to sort materials into groups based on whether they were a solid, liquid or gas.

We became archaeologists like Howard Carter and carefully excavated some Egyptian artefacts. We discussed how these artefacts can help us learn about the Ancient Egyptians.

How and why did the Egyptians make mummies? Our mummy-wrapping competition was a little messy, but a lot of fun!

In history, we looked at the social hierarchy of Ancient Egypt by playing a game of Heads Up! Then we worked together to sort the roles onto a hierarchy pyramid.
