I have based our Earth Club activities around the 5 R's. #refuse #reduce #reuse #repurpose #recycle This week our activity was to repurpose toilet paper rolls. I based it around an age-old kid problem. "I'm bored". Solution? Make a marble run with toilet paper rolls.

Happy Sunday! Here's a fun Pictarithm to solve with your A.M. coffee. I use my holiday puzzles to teach very specific skills. Nothing random about my choice of numbers or operations. They're all part of a strategic and systematic progression of K-12 skills for math & science!

Teaching an Earth club online hasn't been the easiest thing but we find ways to make it fun & engaging! #Earthclub leaf rubbings. Today we made leaf rubbings on recycled paper to build the best airplanes and then figured out how to make some beautiful thank you notes!

Today we made playdough in class to kick off our fraction unit. The kids loved it. It was so much fun! I've never used playdough as a manipulative for fractions but I'm excited to try. Does anyone have any tips?

Make a model of two equivalent fractions. This simple morning meeting activity gave me so much information & the kids were so engaged. #modelsinmath

I can only say I’m working on DEIJ after I’ve looked critically at my own body of work, my own biases, and the systems I reinforce-and have fully accepted how incredibly far away I am from where I need to be headed. Until I’ve accepted that, I haven’t started or started starting.
