Regarding the recent application by National Farmers' Union to allow 'emergency' use of neonics on sugar beet, this image explains the problem: most of the pesticide goes into soils, leaches into waterways, & is taken up by wildflowers & hedgerows. Only 5% in crop. nature.com/articles/natur…

'This woman now has a criminal record that she wasn't even aware of!' Jack Fifield discusses a train user being given a criminal record over a £1.60 mix-up. Tom Harwood questions whether the rail service is deliberately hiding the T&Cs which could prevent people being caught out.

I wish I'd achieved more in my first 100 days. It took Liz Truss only half this time to wreck the economy, double everyone's mortgage and resign. By this point Boris Johnson had lied to The Queen, illegally prorogued Parliament and lost 15 votes in the Commons.

This is great news - really glad to see Northern won't be prosecuting Sam anymore. However, important questions remain: - What about those already prosecuted, who have been left with criminal convictions and heavy bills? - Will the cases on Monday still be going ahead?

Just got in touch with this man, who said he was shocked to find he now has a criminal conviction. He says he hasn't lived at the address on court records for several months. Says he offered to buy a new ticket but was told he couldn't. Added the situation seems 'sleazy'.

This is so shocking and tragic. Why didn't the neighbours call Social Services? Why didn't her Teachers call Social Services? Please be that nosey neighbour! theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/o…

I'm #Grumpy because it's a beautiful day, but I'm poorly. I've sent Phil Page out on a #treasure hunt with #dogs , to retrieve the dog toy that I accidentally chucked into brambles yesterday.
