After an outstanding effort by firefighters, staff & a little help from Mother Nature, containment of the #PeakFire has increased to 95%. The incident transitioned to a Type 3 team this morning. The #McfarlandFire is currently mapped at 3,200 acres with 5% containment. The fire crossed over Forest Route 29N25 on the northwest portion and over Forest Route 29N28 on the southwest side this afternoon.

The evacuation center location for the #McFarlandFire has changed. The new location is: First Baptist Church 1261 Main St. Weaverville, CA 96093 This is the evacuation center for this incident & the #MonumentFire.

The #McFarlandFire is currently mapped at 23,409 acres and is 7% contained. Firefighters have worked in hot and extremely dry conditions that have made fuels highly susceptible to ignition.

Due to talented, hardworking, and relentless firefighters and support personnel, the #McFarlandFire is at 98% containment and continues to hold at 122,653 acres. There was minimal fire behavior today and fire remained inside the current fire perimeter.

Effective 6:00 p.m. tonight, California Interagency Incident Management Team 11 (CIIMT 11) will transition out of managing the incident and return it to the Shasta Trinity National Forest.
