As an Orioles fan there have been very few fun years in my lifetime: the first half of 2005, 2012, 2016 and of course 2014. This year has been the best of the bunch. The city and the fans deserve it

Outside of two very good draft decisions (Gunnar and Westburg) and trading Jorge Lopez for a big return, what has Mike Elias done particularly well since 2019 for the Orioles? Year after year no moves made to upgrade the pitching staff or add to the lineup with experienced bats.

Jury is still out on Jackson Holliday (not looking good), but since 2020 the Orioles havent developed more than one good starting pitcher (Bradish) and keep whiffing in first round: Kjerstad and Bradfield are misses, Honeycutt has big flaws. Time to overhaul the front office

And outside of Gunnar Henderson and Jordan Westburg, every single big piece of the Orioles rebuild has not lived up to the hype: Adley (Matt Wieters) Rutschman, Holliday, Kjerstad, Grayson Rodriguez, Coby Mayo.

The guy is at best a fourth outfielder on a big league roster with no impact in his bat. The team consistently drafts college outfielders high in the draft with significant flaws who haven’t panned out. Same with Beavers, Trimble, Haskin and Fabian

Mike Elias admits defeat on the terrible Tyler O’Neill deal by making another bad deal for a rental. Just a reminder that this rebuild has produced ZERO playoff wins and that’s unlikely to change soon. What exactly does this team have to show for its historically bad 4-year run?

Outside of Gunnar and Basallo, what do the Orioles have to show out of their young core? Rutschman is a miss, jury is out on Westburg and Holliday and Cowser is trending far in the wrong direction. Beavers looks like a nice comeback story but it’s not looking great for Mayo.
