Kenny Irwin Jr. passed away on this date in 2000. He made 133 NASCAR national series starts in his career, while winning two NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks races in 1997. Irwin Jr. started second, led 12 laps and finished eighth at Richmond Raceway in 1997, his NASCAR Cup Series debut.
