Our Forces and their families keep every one of us safe — the very least they deserve is a decent home. This week marks a new chapter. After decades of underinvestment, we are driving the biggest upgrade to military housing in over fifty years. thesun.co.uk/news/37193245/…

This weekend we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our futures and freedoms today. On Greenwich Peninsula, we commemorate gasworks' staff at the Gasworks Memorial on Peninsula Park, East Parkside on Sunday 9 Nov at 1445 (for 1500). All welcome to join.

As a kid I loved reading fiction. Roald Dahl, mainly. Once I was into my teens I became obsessed with non fiction, predominantly politics. For about 25 years, this is all I’ve read. Tonnes and tonnes of books about politics. Plus the occasional footballer’s autobiography. I

Last Thursday we unveiled the restored 1958 William Mitchell mural at Brooklands Primary School. The mural was moved to make way for new social housing. Restoration was supported by Heritage of London Trust, 20th Century Society, the Blackheath Society and local residents.
