TheRealSPR Interesting and amazing talk by Carola Dell'Acqua. Got some important development gists of the 60 years of psychophysiological research publications and citations. Brilliant work! #2023SPR

1/9 Psychology often relies on WEIRD samples (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, Democratic) and results are not always generalizable. Where is psychophysiological research in terms of sample diversity? Check out this paper by Kissel and Friedman! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/share/YUSMRVQW…

Our paper on threat and cortico-cardiac coupling is out in #Psychophysiology 🧠 We suggest two cortical correlates on #cardiac activity: 1) P3 correlate with #expectedness-effects, 2) N1/P2 correlate with #threat-effects on #HP doi.org/10.1111/psyp.1… #EEG #ERP #HP TheRealSPR

Paper out in #Psychophysiology (TheRealSPR) and fantastic work by first author Kathrin Gerpheide: Single-trial analyses showed that early vs. late auditory ERP differentially predicts heart beat changes to tones depending on (a) threat vs. safe context and (b) tone expectedness.

Call for Papers - deadline extended to July 31, 2024! Psychophysiology is seeking submissions for a Special Issue on, "Effects of Non-Invasive Vagus Nerve Stimulation on Brain and Cognition". onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/146989… Wiley Neuro

👀New paper alert: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ps… Robust effects of inherently aversive contexts on psychophysiological correlates of defense behavior! With Judith Paulus, @TheWeezer76 and Gamer Lab Wuerzburg @gamerlab.bsky.social. Out now in TheRealSPR! Universität Würzburg #UniWürzburg

1/4 New paper in #Psychophysiology by Carola Dell'Acqua and colleagues! They explored the link between an EEG measure of social reward responsivenss and real-life responses to social support. This research was supported by SPR’s Research Training Grant. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ps…
