It is perfectly acceptable to begin a sentence with ‘and.’  And it’s equally acceptable to begin a sentence with ‘but’ or ‘or.’

I'm from an island nation where it takes 3 hours to fly to the nearest other country. So the novelty of international train travel will probably never wear off (although pleased yesterday's Eurostar issues have been resolved). Excited to be heading to Zeist for EAMA!

Goodness I'm sick of all this "London has fallen" nonsense. Lovely day out today at the Tate, Covent Garden, Hanwell and then home to Southall. Lived in London for over 20 years and it's never felt more safe, more vibrant.

Think you can fly-tip and get away with it? Think again. Our name & shame page is now live. 📍Check the footage. 🕵️‍♀️ Help us identify offenders. 💪 Let’s clean up the borough. 🔗 aroundealing.com/news/caught-on… #ThisIsOurHome #FlyTipping #NameAndShame #LondonCrime #Southall #Acton

Hi Virgin Media ❤️. I understand this fallen over box in Southall is yours? I reported it to Ealing Council on Monday and by the end of the day they had reported it to you as a matter of urgency. Yet it remains, blocking the pavement. Please can you tell me when it will be moved?

One in every 7 rail journeys is now made on the Queen Elizabeth line, widely panned for decades as a planning disaster, but now paying back in shed loads. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

To all of you, As some of you may have seen, yesterday we made our desire to take over the old Picturehouse Cinema site in Stratford public. In a bid to keep those who support us in the loop, and to provide further clarity on the situation, this is the current status.

This would be amazing if they pull it off. Would have been amazing if the Ealing Project cinema could have been saved in the same way.

The evidence is clear - 20mph zones save lives. In London, they’ve cut deaths and serious injuries by 34% and child fatalities by 75%. That's why we need to see more 20mph areas. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Spotted a small but important thing about eating/drinking out in NZ - water seems to be always available or given, much more noticeably so than in the UK. Great for host responsibility.

Fun fact about New Zealand: there are no snakes at all Another fun fact: Intercity rail is a thing here too and the service we're on from Hamilton to Auckland this morning - Te Huia - is great. Can recommend taking it and watching the landscape of the Waikato scroll by.

Developing over gardens in London is a dreadful idea. Removal of permeable green space would increase flash flooding, extreme heat events, and place unmanageable pressure on services and infrastructure. The YIMBY movement is fast becoming a right wing libertarian endeavour.

Honestly I could talk about the joys of King’s Cross ALL DAY. It’s a masterclass in how to do good public spaces. There’s so much that’s good about it, but today I’ll tell about these bits: 1/5
