I don’t understand wanting Bobb to have the breakout season he deserves and then demanding Rodrygo to be signed to replace Savinho so that Bobb won’t ever have that breakout season. City fans genuinely just want whatever we don’t currently have.

People know that Rodrygo has NEVER matched Savinho’s 19 G/A in a La Liga season, right? He got 12 last season, 15 the season before. Savinho got 19. I will never understand this Rodrygo hype.

Rodri playing inbetween the split centre backs with Nunes and Ait-Nouri pushing up. Rodri becomes the build up from deep. Reijnders and the inverted full backs occupying the midfield.

So we literally just signed Trafford to free up a non-home grown spot? I hope to god he knew about this because if not this is the kind of shit that kills a dressing room.

But I thought we already decided we aren’t able to sign a RB we like this summer? Because if that’s true we can’t really be allowing Rico to leave can we?

I think without Rodri, Pep wants to invert the full backs alongside Nico, as opposed to letting them be the width like we all thought would be the plan this season. Therefore no Nunes as Rico inverts better, no Marmoush as the wingers have to hold width. Makes sense really.

We have to be the worst team at crossing in the league. Why is everything so floaty? It’s like we’re just passing to the keeper.

I know it’s boring to talk about off-ball when you score 4 with some nice goals, but how much better is our press with Oscar Bobb in it? Doku too worked incredibly hard off ball, as good as I’ve seen him. Marmoush is willing to do it, Reijnders does it. It’s just so much better.

It’s a great sign to see Pep saying we weren’t that good after a 4-0 win. This is how he was when we were at our very best. Nothing was ever good enough as it wasn’t quite perfect. Pep is back imo. I didn’t recognise him last season but now I do.
