It’s about raising awareness for my constituents whose children have been beaten up and relentlessly bullied because of something so superficial as their hair colour. It’s no laughing matter for them and it can have a profound long term impact. Anything I can do to help, I will.

Devastating stories from colleagues in today’s debate on Gambling Harms, initiated by Alex Ballinger MP. I raised young people’s frequent exposure to gambling ads during family entertainment and sport. We need to stop betting being normalised, and glamourised.

We need welfare reform, but it must be done right. I am concerned about the impact the Government's current plans will have on my constituents, so I have signed an amendment to the UC and PIP Bill. With Dr Hefin David MS/AS I have also raised my concerns in a letter to the Government.

LBJ was the focus of this year's excellent US presidential lecture series in Parliament this week. As Barbara A. Perry noted, his landmark domestic achievements were ultimately overshadowed by the Vietnam War — a sobering reminder of how foreign policy can define a legacy.

I welcome the Government’s concessions to protect PIP. But this bill was rushed and poorly thought through. We need welfare reform—but only after proper consultation with disabled groups and other key stakeholders. That’s why I abstained on the vote this evening.

Tonight MPs voted on the Government’s Pathways to Work Green Paper, which proposes changes to make claiming Personal Independence Payment and Universal Credit health element harder.  Despite a lot of disquiet among MPs and lots of last minute changes, the bill passed. Anna

Such sad news. Hefin’s passion and dedication to Caerphilly was evident in all he did, and I will greatly miss him as a colleague and friend. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, especially his two young daughters.

The entire Labour movement will join me in grieving the loss of Hefin David.
