Upon meeting a young O'Bryan (Official), Soul Train creator Don Cornelius took him under his wing, forming a strong friendship that lasted until Cornelius’ death in 2012. “He was so down to earth, and so regular,” O’Bryan recalls about the legend.

Did @soultrain’s Don Cornelius pass on working with Whitney Houston? O'Bryan (Official) revealed Cornelius didn’t always get it right, referring to a time when he didn’t see the potential of him collaborating with a relatively unknown Whitney in 1983.
“Doin’ Alright” showcases a mix of styles and genres that fit just right with O'Bryan (Official)'s vocals, from punchy R&B to orchestrated arrangements and quiet storm exercises. To this day, he considers his first album to be a classic.
