Barely used eBay for 20 years and it’s dumbfounding that the norm for things that are auctioned is still a hard time cutoff, which someone always snipes in the final minute. (Even using tools to do it). It’s crappy for bidders, and for sellers who could receive a truer value.

Sad to see Foursquare Swarm (formerly City Guide) app finally getting canned, though surprised the split survived this long. I hope they’ll make Swarm by Foursquare a capable exploration tool, I’m smacking my head as we speak that Google Maps nor Apple Maps can filter restaurant results by “Open Right Now”…

Algorithms exhibiting self-love for an image generation the gf and I riffed on as a joke. I mean sure I guess that *would* have been among the most interesting things that happened this year 😂

Sometimes I imagine an internal Radar at Apple with a million votes titled “Users complain that Esc exits full screen”, where some greybeard interaction designer stands steadfastly on top of this hill, willing to die on it, yelling that it is *The Path of Righteousness*.

I miss this scene, and good lord I cannot get over those ticket prices.
